Viking Life
Wednesday 11 March
And so with some sadness, we say goodbye to our home of the last 17 nights, the Viking Jupiter. This is the third cruise we have been on with Viking, our previous two were on Viking Mars from Mumbai to Athens, and Viking Orion from Vancouver to Seward.
Once again, we have had the most awesome time. The service on Viking is second to none, they anticipate your needs before you know them, the crew are so polite and helpful, the cabins are luxurious, the pools and spa are heavenly, the gym is great and much needed given that the food is unbelievably delicious, the lecturers and port talks provided us with so much information on the places we have visited and the entertainment and shows are awesome ….and very entertaining!!! We won the first Quiz and tied in the final Quiz so that wasn’t bad going either. We have had a brilliant holiday – the motto on Viking, unlike other cruise lines, is that it’s not about the ship, it’s about the destination – but I have to say, the ship plays a huge part in providing you with the most luxurious way of getting to that said destination!
Some facts for you – during our cruise they have used 21,000 eggs, 700 bottles of alcohol, 7000 bottles of wine, 8000 bottles of beer, 300 gallons of icecream – and because of all that - 3,400 toilet rolls!
It's 9.30am and they have cast us adrift! I hope it won’t be a permanent goodbye and that Geoff and I will find another interesting Viking cruise to sail on in the future. In the meantime, some highlight photos of our time on this beautiful ship!
